eQcell seeking Cell Culture Technicians

Job Description

eQcell, an Ontario regenerative medicine company pursuing veterinary stromal cellular therapies are seeking to expand its team with additional Cell Culture Technicians (CCT). The CCT cultivates and maintains cell cultures within a rigorously controlled research environment. The CCT ensures the precise preparation of reagents and solutions, manages inventory of consumables, oversees cryogenic storage, and supports logistics and sample retrieval. With a commitment to quality control, safety compliance, and laboratory equipment maintenance, the technician aids in maintaining the lab's operational excellence and supports team efforts toward research objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cell Culture Maintenance: Cultivates and maintains cell lines, ensuring sterile handling, media exchanges, cell seeding, and harvesting in compliance with aseptic techniques and GLP/GMP guidelines.

  • Reagent and Solution Preparation: Prepares and maintains a stock of essential reagents and solutions, ensuring all materials are available and prepared according to precise specifications.

  • Inventory Management: Manages inventory for all cell culture-related consumables, ensuring that supplies are well-stocked and organized.

  • Cryogenic Storage Management: Oversees the exchange of nitrogen tanks for cryogenic storage units, ensuring the integrity of stored biological samples.

  • Logistics and Sample Retrieval: Coordinates receiving packages from the main delivery site and retrieves samples from off-site locations as needed.

  • Laboratory Support and Maintenance: Assists in various laboratory tasks as needed, including but not limited to moving items between storage and the main lab area, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the lab.

  • Team Collaboration: Supports team members, assisting with laboratory tasks and communication within the facility as required.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Quality Control: Conducts regular quality control checks on cell cultures.

  • Documentation: Keeps detailed records of laboratory activities, ensuring best practices in data management.

  • Safety Compliance: Adheres to safety protocols, using PPE and safely handling hazardous materials.

  • Physical requirements: Capable of safely carrying up to 40lbs down a flight of stairs, aiding in material transport.

  • Laboratory Equipment Maintenance: Conducts routine equipment checks and sterilization, arranging for service calls as needed to ensure operational functionality.


Start date, Time Commitment, and Compensation

  • The positions will be filled as soon as the right candidates are identified.

  • Positions may be full-time or part-time as agreed upon

  • Competitive compensations as agreed upon
